What a slice of Philly in San Francisco! We are currently on vacation and wanted to find a Philly bar to watch the NFC champion game. We had so much fun. Luckily we got there early got a seat Even though there were plenty outside which was packed by the way but chilly weather. Air horns Jake running on the bar. Passing out green jello when the Eagles got a touchdown. People having the time of their lives high fives hugs. Wow can't say enough about our time at Jake's Steak. Oh and the steak sandwich was next to being back in Philly while on vacation. Hats off to you Jake. Hope you get your green smoke machine soon. Great place even if you're not an eagles fan. Can't ever go wrong with a Philly cheesesteak
I'm working nearby now so I decided to try Jake's. I've been wanting to for a long time. The jury of taste buds has spoken! The verdict is unanimously FRIGGIN DELICIOUS!!! I got the Cheesesteak with mushrooms, wiz and spicy peppers. If you can't handle some real heat get the milder ones. I wolfed down every bit and on a cold day this was perfect. I am very happy I discovered this place and will be frequenting it often.
Food tastes great, quantity is absolute dogshit. Maybe 4oz of meat if that. Have a little pride and charge more for better products.
my boyfriend and i are native philadelphians & are fortunate enough to live around the corner from jake's steaks on valencia. it's our refuge for late night drinking cravings or when we don't feel like cooking. the cheez wiz is authentic and everything we've ordered is solid, i love that they get their rolls from amoroso's and have hot peppers. the staff is lovely and the service is exceptional, jake's steaks is not just "good for san francisco" but would definitely would hold its own against any cheesesteak joint in philly!
Best Philly Cheesesteak ever!!!! Oooo. What I ordered: Original with steak and minced grill onions & provolone cheese. First bite I was already in culinary heaven. Mind u I have tried this in many US airports including in Philly and lets just say this one was hands down THE BEST. Bread was perfectly crunchy and I donno what the secret sauce is but the tastes along with the melted cheese on top of the grilled onions n steak meat was pure 8 minutes of heaven for moi. Plus there was a vast array of specialty drinks (I picked a soda bottle black cherry flavored that was delicious n just much better than even bottled Mexican coke) that came with the Original Philly Combo & the PERFECT WAFFLE FRIES. Special shout out to the cashier (sorry forgot your name) he and this nice lady were the chef also. They were so courteous amd kind. I had a Michelin like experience here. Clean, perfect food, and just right service. At the end I cleared my own table and I gladly did so for my entire lunch was only $15.99 plus lu ch!!
This cheesesteak place has some okay cheese steak. My favorite type of cheesesteak has cheese whiz. The waffle fries were light and tasty. Overall a solid place to grab a cheesesteak sandwich.
